Gothic Ballet

The Rise And Rise Again Of Kate Bush

The name Kate Bush automatically brings the thought of 'Wuthering Heights',that tale of gothic romance,in that high pitched psychedelic ballet performance attached to the song, those dark eyes that could push the every word into your brain for eternity.
Perhaps it was the shared Birthday with Emily Bronte that attatched her to the subject as the 18 year old wrote the lyrics.
At the young age of 19 when that song hit the top of the charts,it launched her career,a protege of David Gilmour, but her leanings were more 'Genesis' sounding than 'Pink Floyd'.The maturity beyond her years statement fits perfectly here,as,at the young age of 13 she wrote in full 'The Man With The Child In His Eyes',needs to be heard and revisited to believed that talent that lay there.

The Dreaming, released in 1982,written and produced by Kate, was unjustifiably blasted by critics, not as successful as her previous efforts. The Dreaming was more avant garde and progressive than her past efforts, throw in a not chart single with 'There Goes A bTenner',
And you have a slight failure, although artists such as Bjork have cited 'The Dreaming',as being a huge influence on their musical style.
Regardless the misunderstood album,
A Reinvention was needed, rightly or wrongly, and the themes that would define the shy star, withdrawal and seclusion, would be more evident now than at any time before and after.
Enter the 'Hounds Of Love And The Ninth Wave'.
